Final Cut

So I've seen the final cut and I think its turned out really well. I've really enjoyed working in this group and I've think our hard work has paid off. Lets just hope it gets a good reception in the presentation. I've learnt alot about organising from working with this group that I hope I can incoporate in my future projects. I'm still not a fan of sound though and it's not something I want to continue with next year, but I've appreciated the chance to work with it and the experience I've gained through this project ^_^

Fiona Dialogue

I met up with Fiona to get the additional dialogue for the phone conversation at the end of our film. Unfortunately, the only room we could find, caused her voice to have an echo, but hopefully it's something James can edit, due to the fact we want it to sound like it's coming through a phone anyway.

Sound Log

I wrote the sound log, but it was hand written and I forgot to get a copy for here before I gave it to James to use during the sound edit. But it will be in the Production Folder. Also I don't think I added all the right information that a normal sound log would have, it's something i'm going to have to learn from for next time.

Rough Edit

We got some good feedback from Esther from our rough edit. Although we hadn't added the sound yet, she gave Joeley some good advice about some of the scenes and cuts she could change. But overall I think it was well received and I think we've got a good film so far. Just need to add the sound now. Which means I need to record more foley for James ^_^

Second Day Of Shooting

Well this Second day was not fun!! Had to shoot out in the rain and it's very hard to get good recordings of sound when it's pouring down. But I managed best as I could and whatever else we need I'm going to get as foley. I already know that I need to get Fiona's part of the phone call, which I already re-recorded James' part after the shoot before he had to leave. I also got some of the other foley sounds while we were waiting, like the ticking clock and I tried to get an atmos, but it wasn't very good, so James has said he'll try at his house, because I don't have a large enough space for it to sound suitable to our location. We managed to film some of the cutaways we wanted and hopefully they'll be enough. I though the most I learnt from todays shooting was how to best position lighting to get a realistic night time effect. That took a long time I tell you! ^_^ So yea, I think Joeley's gonna go through the footage to start the rough edit and then let me know what extra foley sounds I need to get. I have an idea already what I might need, but then again I think quite alot of the recordings from the days shooting could be useable so we'll have to wait and see.

First Day Of Shooting

We had our first day shooting today and although it took longer than we thought to do some of the scenes, I think it turned out well. I think we got a good variety of shots for the edit and with the clapper board we used it will make up for the lack of sync sound. It was hard to control both the boom stick and check the levels and operate the marantz so at first Rhys helped me with that but as the day went on I got used to it and I think the sounds kept at the right levels and were pretty clear. We'll see how it goes when James starts to edit them. You can found photos of the day on Natalie's Blog ^_^
