Sign Language - Oscar Sharp (2010)
This film starts with an upbeat soundtrack and the introduction of the narrator. The digetic sounds of the bus is clear and quite loud in the background to keep the sense of realism to the piece. He has a cheerful voice and combined with the music, the audience is given the indication that this will be a happy film. However as the film goes on you realise that the tune is actually quite mellow. There's not much to say about the sound, this film is really made by the great performance of the main character. The soundtrack just adds to the emotions, the slightly downhearted tone in the middle, when he feels like no-one is going to say goodbye on his last shift, and the feel-good atmosphere at the end when the music picks up, as they message him with thier signs and as he gets a happy ending with the girl he likes.
Overall a quite film, that shows with a correct appropriate song choice, it can really help with the atmosphere of your film.
